Wales’ largest animation production company Cloth Cat Animation will showcase four of its latest development projects in front of key players from the children’s media industry at this week’s Kidscreen Summit in Miami.
Cloth Cat will be presenting pitches for Little Oaks, Polly and Hax, School Rules and Lunar Lodge.
The studio, which was recently listed in Animation Magazine’s ’25 Animation Companies to Watch’ will be represented at the summit by Jon Rennie (Managing Director) and Adam Bailey (Head of Animation Development).
Ben Cawthorne (Creative Producer) will also be representing Cloth Cat’s sister company – the interactive development studio Thud Media – who they are collaborating with to develop a full cross-platform content slate to support the current animation projects. Thud specialise in websites, games and apps for kids, supporting shows and brands with their expertise.
Head of Animation Development Adam Bailey said: “Kidscreen is a key event for us and we are really looking forward to unveiling our new development slate there and discussing new projects and potential co-production opportunities”.
Cloth Cat specialises in the development, design and technical execution of content for broadcast series, commercials, games and web. They work on co-productions with a number of renowned producers, as well as developing their own content for the international market.
The studio’s previous work has been broadcast on CBeebies, Disney, Cartoonito, Netflix, Sprout, S4C, Channel 5’s Milkshake! RTÉjr and ABC Kids. Projects include Toot the Tiny the Tiny Tugboat, Boj, Grandpa In My Pocket, Ha Ha Hairies, LLan-ar-Goll-en and Disney’s Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh. They are also currently working on the animated feature film adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ classic graphic novel Ethel and Ernest, to be released later this year.
Part of the Bait Studio group, Cloth Cat is based at Gloworks – the Welsh Government’s flagship creative industries hub in Cardiff Bay. The group also include VFX and Motion Design arm Bait Studio and interactive development studio Thud Media.
