Last week Cloth Cat Animation and Thud Media headed up to Sheffield for another whirlwind time at The Children’s Media Conference: three jam-packed days of catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, plus insightful talks, exciting projects and of course, some great nights out!
The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Open’, and there was a wide variety of sessions to go with it. In Serving Up a Healthy Lifestyle, our current CG production Shane the Chef was discussed as an example of a series that really encourages healthy eating for kids, and we were delighted to share a little insight into the show with the audience. We were also served up a side of silliness in the memorable Creative Keynote with Dick and Dom; it was interesting to hear about the inspiration behind the double act – though we were quite relieved to be sat near the back when it came to audience interaction!
We were also involved in the CMC sessions ourselves this year; Producer/Head of Development Adam Bailey produced the Focus on China session, and Cloth Cat MD Jon Rennie was on the panel for The Route to China. Thanks to all who attended – we hope they provided some useful insights into this interesting market that we’re engaging with ever more as production continues on Luo Bao Bei.
As always, CMC has left us feeling inspired and excited about what the future holds for children’s media. ‘Til next year, Sheffield!
